Grigor Hovhannisyan

General Partners

Grigor Hovhannisyan is a serial entrepreneur and investor with over 20 years of experience in technology and electronics. He has been involved in the Armenian tech ecosystem since 2003, including as a founding team member and early investor in Idram. In 2006, he founded Premier Integrated Technologies, which provides security and communication solutions to large enterprises as well as U.S. government organizations. In 2017, he founded BANA Angels, Armenia’s first angel investor network. In 2021, he co-founded Formula VC.

Karen Vardanyan

General Partners

Karen Vardanyan holds around 10 years of diverse experience in finance and banking at HSBC. He co-founded Sprint Crowdfunders’ Fund, a unique fund investing in IoT projects that are entering the market through crowdfunding. Since mid-2018s, more than 200 projects from 26 countries backed by the Sprint have raised more than $100M.

Sona Veziryan

Partner

Sona Veziryan is the Director at BANA Angels, the first and most active angel network in Armenia. She joined BANA Angels in 2018 and has since played a key role in growing angel investments across Armenia’s innovation ecosystem, contributing to 36 portfolio startups and over $4M invested.

Sona is the Co-founder and Syndicate Lead of The Syndicate by BANA, and has led a number of successful deals. She initiated the BANA Angels Training program and Investor Tour program, connecting international investors with Armenian startups.

Paulo Bilezikjian

Paulo Bilezikjian is a seasoned investor with 30+ years of experience in private equity and venture capital across global markets. He has served as a partner at a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund, where he focused on cross-border investments and portfolio strategy. Paulo also brings valuable public company board experience, having advised and governed high-growth and international firms.

Michal Valko

Venture Partner

Michal Valko is a leading AI researcher and practitioner. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh and is a tenured researcher at Inria, as well as a lecturer at ENS Paris-Saclay. He worked on Google DeepMind in Paris and worked on advanced AI projects at Meta, including contributions to the Llama 3. Michal’s work spans reinforcement learning, self-supervised learning, and large-model alignment, and he regularly presents his research at top global AI conferences.
